Gorgeous!  Molly Steinmetz, MECA student and mastermind behind bitches and beehives, has designed a lovely poster for our craft fair coming up this December.  The original is black and white, and we will be taking it to task with an armada of watercolors.  Would you like a few posters of your own to paint and post?  Just email:  audrey@mayostreetarts.org to find out how to get your hands on some copies.

Festival Zinnia scarf by Merchantship

Today’s vendor spotlight features DOCKSMITH, a couple of characters living just north of Portland bringin’ technology down to Earth.

Their driftwood and rootwood iPod, iPhone and iPad stations are foraged from Maine beaches and woods and carved in to these functional forms.

Smart Alex, samples some berries!

Introducing “Smart” Alex, the creator and concocter behind Smart Alex Jams.  We all know that great handmade businesses often come from a passionate, creative person doing something that very labor intensive and very delicious for years and years.  And all those years they hear people telling them “This is so good, you should sell it!”  That’s exactly the story behind the Jams at Smart Alex, and we are really looking forward to picking up a jar of our own at The Big Chill on Sunday, December 2nd!

Oh my gosh, look at the calendar!!  It’s October 22nd already and The Big Chill applications close on October 31st!  That means it’s gotta be mailed to 10 Mayo St., Portland, ME 04101 by Wednesday, October 31st and not a second later!

If you’d like to download an application, please visit the link at the tab above that says “Apply!”  Then it will say “Click Here for the Big Chill Application!” and then you will and then you will say “Oh score, I’m just steps away from sending my application in!”
